Dejan Grba spent five months, from January to June 2007, as a visiting artist/professor on a semester - long Junior Faculty Development Program at the Department of Transmedia of the College of Visual and Performing Arts within Syracuse University in the New York State. Syracuse University has an impressive list of alumni, from Hilton Kramer to David Rockwell and Grace Jones, Lou Reed and Peter Faulk, and famous alumni in the fine arts field such as Bill Viola, Frank Stella and Sol Lewitt.
Dejan Grba is the first artist from Serbia who won the JFDP scholarship, which was prior to 2006 exclusively given to teachers in the social studies fields. During his stay in the US, Dejan developed an intensive and diverse professional relationship with American colleagues and students, visited soime of the most important US arts institutions, gave several lectures, started and realized a number of international projects.
His impressions and experiences gained during his professional development trip in US he illustrated with the selection of over 2000 photographs in cinema Rex on September 27, 2007.
The next presentation of Dejan Grba's US experience illustrated with the selection of over 5000 photographs is scheduled for October 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the Department for Statuary of University of Arts in Belgrade at Bulevar vojvode Putnika 68 in Senjak.
