Event Goals:

To promote the proceedings of the conference held in April 2006. which was organized by JFDP alumna, her colleague Julijana Vuco (now also JFDP alumna), Faculty of Philology of University of Belgrade and American Councils. This is the first big conference for language, linguistics and literature instructors since 1990. Its aim was to gather together language, linguistics and literature instructors from the whole Serbia and Montenegro and have them network and discuss the new teaching methodoligies and technologies in the fields of language and literature and implement the new teaching techniques as well as educational reforms.

Highlights:

Vice Dean of the Faculty of Philology opened the event, Julijana Vuco, as an editor of the conference proceedings gave a speech, which was followed up by a speech of dr Biljana Sikimic, science advisor at Balkan Institute SANU, the conference proceedings reviewer and Cassandra Payton, American Councils regional director for SEE.

After the official part of promotion, dr Kayoko Yamasaki conducted poetry workshop for visitors of the promotion.

Summary:

Ministry of Science funded the publication of proceedings of the conference "Current issues in the learning and teaching of languages and literatures", which was organized in April 2006. by Jelena Runic, JFDP alumna and Julijana Vuco, JFDP alumna, American Councils and Faculty of Philology of University of Belgrade.
Julijana Vuco organized promotion of the conference proceedings publication.
