Biljana Nikolić's project: Make life happier

Project “Make life happier” consisted of visiting the retirement home on Karaburma and supplying them with diapers for adults. The realization was planned for Friday, April 20th.

Before the realization date we contacted numerous pharmacies to find the best prices an delivery terms. We also had few contacts with the retirement home to schedule our visit and get necessary information on sizes and kinds of diapers they need.

On the day of realization four students and Ms. Vesna from American councils visited the retirement home. We first met with the person in charge of the storage room and delivered diapers. Then we met with social worker who told us short history of the retirement home and explained us their current situation. After that she took us for a walk around the home. We were able to see all the facilities as well as to meet psychologist and nurse. In the end we joined group of patrons in their common room and had some time to talk with them. They were happy to see so many young people at once and very eager to tell us about their life in the retirement home. It was very useful and pleasant visit.

During the conversation with therapist we found out that the patrons also like reading and doing arts and crafts a lot. That gave us an idea for some future projects of this kind.
